Biljana Bursać, scientist coming from the laboratory of the University of Bordeaux to run for pleasure on the streets beneath Tâmpa.

Brașov City is hosting the first world athletics championship ever organized in Romania! The 50KM World Running Championship takes place on September 1, 2019 in the town beneath Tâmpa.

Organized by IAU (International Organization of Ultra-running), together with the Romanian Federation of Athletics and with the support of Ministry for Youth and Sport, Brașov City Hall and Braşov County Council, the 50KM World Running Championship will bring to Brașov the strongest Ultra-runners of the moment.
Athletes from 30 countries representing all continents will arrive at this championship, and before the competition starts, the Romanian Athletics Federation will introduce you the most famous athletes who will run through the streets of Brașov.

On Monday, August 18, 2019, we present in a few words on the Serbian Biljana Bursać. Born on August 27, 1985, Biljana will come to Brașov just a few days after the birthday.

Big passionate about running, Biljana constantly participates in marathon and ultramarathon races, and in some races she obtains the best results. Thus, in 2019, at the 50KM National Running Championship in Serbia, Biljana was ranked second, winning the silver medal. She finished the contest with a time of 3:44:00. Last year, at the National Championship of Serbia he ran in 70 hours the distance of 70,410 meters, occupying the first place!
And last year, at the marathon in Jagodina (Serbia), Biljana Bursać finished the race with a time of 3:09:00.

An interesting fact is that in everyday life, Biljana Bursać is a scientist, working in the field of molecular biology! Specifically, the Serbian athlete conducts research on molecular endocrinology, obesity and nutritional biochemistry at the University of Bordeaux (France).

The 50KM World Running Championship takes place on September 1, 2019 in the city beneath Tâmpa and is organized by the IAU (International Ultra-Running Organization), together with the Romanian Athletics Federation, with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport and of the City Hall of Brașov and is co-financed by the Brașov County Council.
