The American Tony Migliozzi is aiming for the third world title in Brașov!

Brasov City is hosting the first world athletics championship ever organized in Romania! The 50KM World Running Championship takes place on September 1, 2019 in the town beneath Tâmpa and it is organized BY IAU (International Organization of Ultra-running), together with the Romanian Federation of Athletics and with the support of Ministry of Youth and Sport, Brasov City Hall and Braşov City Council, the 50KM World Running Championship will bring to Brașov the strongest Ultra-runners of the moment.

Athletes from 31 countries representing all continents will arrive at this championship, and before the competition starts, the Romanian Athletics Federation will introduce you the most famous athletes who will run through the streets of Brașov.
Tony Migliozzi is without any doubt one of the most important athletes who will start the 50KM World Running Championship in Brașov, from September 1st.
Born on June 21, 1989, in North Canton, Ohio, the American athlete is a two-time world champion in this competition. Tony won the gold medal in 2015 and 2016 and  the competition was organized in Doha, Qatar both times.
In 2015, Tony Migliozzi climbed to the top of the podium with a time of 2:52:08, ahead of two Kenyan athletes: Arnold Kiptaoi (2:55:34) and Samuel Ongaki (2:56:15).
A year later, Tony becomes for the second time world champion, finishing the race with a time of 2:54:02. In 2016, he was followed on the podium by American Tyler Andrews (2:56:04) and Collen Makaza of Zimbabwe (2:56:58).

In 2019, Tony Migliozzi is again part of the United States of America team that will take part in the Brașov competition and will try to win the third gold medal at the 50KM World Championship.

“I am honoured to represent the United States of America again in this competition and I think with excitement that I have the chance to win for the third time the world champion title,” said the 30-year-old American athlete.

Tony competes for the USA in races of 5,000 m, 10,000 m, half-marathon and marathon, and the 5 and 6 places he occupied at the 2015 Chicago Marathon (6th place – 2:17:44) and 2016 (5th place) are remarkable. – 2:19:39).
In 2016, Tony Migliozzi was declared ultra-runner of the year in the United States!
